CEED 2018
CEED 2018(Common Entrance Exam For Design) was conducted by IIT Bombay on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in 21 cities across the country. This year a total of 6,423 candidates registered and 5,507 candidates appeared for the exam. Of these, 1,003 candidates qualified. The top-ranked candidate is Ms.AFSHAAR of Bengaluru with a CEED score of 77.53. She is followed by Ms. HIMANI ABHAY DESHPANDE from Thane in the second rank with a CEED score of 75.08, and Mr.AKSHAY ARVIND KAMTHE from Pune in the third rank with a CEED score of 71.42.

ADMISSION
Eligiblity for admission to M Des programme is a basic degree in engineering or architecture. Selection for admission is based on performance in a design aptitude test (DAT) and interview conducted at the centre. Shortlisting for DAT is done on the basis of appliacant's CEED or GATE score. In case the score is not yet available at the time of applying, the candidates can apply indicating their CEED / GATE registration numbers.
The DAT / interview will test the engineering knowledge; spatial, creative, and analytical thinking ability; aesthetic sensitivity and communicating ability; and the overall aptitude for the design and the suitability of the candidate for the programme.

M Des Programme
After screening based on the GATE / CEED score, a design aptitude test will be conducted on May 14, 2018, timings 10.45 a.m to 12.45 p.m and interview will be conducted between May 14 and 16, 2018. Selection will be based on performance in the design aptitude test and interview.
Notes (a) The names of the Candidates short-listed for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview will be posted on the applicant’s interface on the IISc website www.iisc.ac.in/admissions under the application Status link at least 2 weeks in advance Such candidates can take a print-out of the interview letters from the respective candidate’s LOGIN page and make necessary arrangements for attending the interview. No separate communication will be sent by post.
(b) Candidates called for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview have to make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation etc.
(c) Candidates called for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview should bring with them attested copies of all their transcripts (marks cards from SSLC or its equivalent onwards, degree certificates of the qualifying examinations, etc.) and produce them before the interview committee, failing which they will not be interviewed.
(d) Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category should bring the original caste/tribe certificate, issued by a competent authority for the purposes of verification. OBC candidates belonging to the non creamy layer/minorities (as listed in the Central list) will be required to produce the original certificates issued on or after January 1st , 2017 by a competent authority.
(e) Persons with disability (PwD) and Kashmiri-Migrants (KM) should produce the originals of the appropriate certificates issued as per Government of India rules.
(f) Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) provides a common platform for the candidate to make the most preferred choice for an admission into M.Tech Programmes through GATE in participating academic Institutes (IISc & IITs). Admission offers for M Tech programmes of IISc will be made available on COAP. Candidates will have to register on COAP to accept the offer.
The offer letter for the selected candidates will be posted on the Applicant’s interface on the IISc website www.iisc.ac.in/admissions under the Application Status link during the mid/third week of May. They can download the offer letter and make the necessary arrangements including payment of fees etc,. after accepting the offer on COAP. No separate communication will be sent by post.
(g) Candidates admitted to the M Tech and M Des programmes should report to the Institute for completing admission formalities on 24.07.2018.
(h) At the time of joining, candidates should have completed all the requirements for the award of the qualifying degree including all examinations, dissertation projects, viva-voce, etc.
(i) Only candidates who produce all the mark sheets and degree certificates (original/provisional) issued by the University Authorities will be given regular admission.
(j) Candidates who are awaiting results but have completed all formalities for the award of a degree should produce at the time of joining, a Course-Completion Certificate, issued by the Head of the institution (The Principal/Registrar). Such candidates will be given only provisional admission, which will be regularized on their producing all the marks sheets and degree certificates (original, or provisional)etc., issued by the University Authorities on or before October 31, 2018, failing which the provisional admission stands cancelled.
(k) Candidates who are given provisional admission are eligible for a scholarship only on regularization of admission (on production of the required documents). They will be paid a scholarship with retrospective effect, i.e., from the date of joining.

CEED 2018 Question Paper 1. The total duration of the examination is 3 hours. The question paper contains two parts Part A and Part B. The duration of Part A is one hour. The duration of Part B is two hours. Part B will start only after Part A ends. Part A cannot be attempted after Part B commences. 2. Questions of Part A and Part B will appear on the computer. Answers to Part A have to be entered in the computer. Answers to Part B have to be given in the answer book provided by the invigilator 3. Part A carries a total of 100 marks . It contains 5 sections.
